Fish products
Decree of the Ministry of Industry dated 06/11/2001
Method for determining the drained weight of pre-packed fish food products.
Given that the determination of the effective quantity of drained product contained in pre-packed containers holding fish products preserved in a liquid leads to different results if the methods used to determine the weight are not the same. Given that it is necessary to establish the criteria for determining the effective quantity of these products, this decree establishes the method to be used.

Mineral water
Decree of the Ministry of Health, February 8 2002
Suspension of the decree dated December 3 2001, concerning “Sale of mineral water by commercial businesses”. Given the difficulties in meeting the provisions of the decree dated December 3 2001 (see previous decree) indicated by the trade associations and in view of the risk of increasing environmental impact as a result of an increase in the number of containers to be disposed of, the Law-makers have suspended the effect of this decree.

Gas cylinders
Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, December 7 2001
Extension of the deadline foreseen under the decree dated October 14 1999 concerning the color of the body of cylinders used for medical gases. The deadline indicated in clause 3, para. 2, of the decree of the Ministry of Transport and Navigation dated October 14 1999 (April 28 2001), by which time all cylinders to be used for medical gases listed in the current official list of medicines in Italy, edition 10, must comply with the new standards, has been extended until April 28 2002.

Labeling of beef
Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, December 13 2001
Dispositions in line with EC Regulations n. 1760/2000 - Heading II - Labeling of beef. In view of clause 9 of Ministerial Decree dated August 30 2000 that foresees the authorisation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for independent bodies designated by operators or organisations to check the labeling of beef, as well as the monitoring of the activities of the organisations authorised to label beef with additional, non-compulsory information adopting a method approved by the above Ministry, the decree dated December 13 2001 sets out the methods and duration of said authorisation.

Product safety
Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and the Council dated December 3 2001 concerning the general safety of products.
Given that it has become necessary to introduce a large number of changes to Directive 92/59/EEC in order to complete, strengthen or clarify certain dispositions in the light of experience gained and recent developments in the safety of consumer products, this directive is currently being rewritten.

Milk
Directive 2001/114/CE of the Council dated December 20 2001 concerning certain types of partially or totally dehydrated milk for human consumption.
For the sake of clarity and in order to make the standards applied to the production and sale of certain types of partially or totally dehydrated milk for human consumption more accessible, this directive defines the product names to be used on the labels.

Prodotti Ittici
Decreto Ministero delle attività produttive del 06/11/2001
Metodo per la determinazione del peso sgocciolato nei prodotti alimentari ittici preconfezionati.
Considerato che la determinazione della quantità effettiva di prodotto sgocciolato, contenuta negli imballaggi preconfezionati di conserve ittiche immerse in un liquido di governo, conduce a risultati non confrontabili qualora la predetta determinazione non sia effettuata con lo stesso metodo. Ritenuto altresì necessario stabilire per tali prodotti il criterio per la determinazione della quantità effettiva, il decreto in esame ne stabilisce il metodo.

Acqua minerale
Decreto Ministero della Salute, 8 febbraio 2002
Sospensione del decreto 3 dicembre 2001, recante “Commercializzazione delle acque minerali negli esercizi pubblici”.
Considerate le difficoltà di adeguamento alle prescrizioni del decreto 3 dicembre 2001 (vedi decreto precedente), segnalate dalle associazioni di categoria e considerato il rischio di aggravamento del carico ambientale conseguente all’aumento dei contenitori da smaltire, il Legislatore ha sospeso l’efficacia del suddetto decreto.

Bombole gas
Decreto Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti, 7 dicembre 2001
Proroga dei termini previsti dal decreto 14 ottobre 1999 recante colorazione del corpo delle bombole per gas medicinali.
Il termine, indicato all’art. 3, comma 2, del decreto del Ministero dei trasporti e della navigazione 14 ottobre 1999 (28 aprile 2001), previsto per l’adeguamento del parco bombole destinate a contenere i gas medicinali elencati nella Farmacopea ufficiale italiana X edizione, circolanti in Italia e’ prorogato fino al 28 aprile 2002.

Etichettatura carne bovina
Decreto Ministero delle Politiche Agricole e Forestali, 13 dicembre 2001
Disposizioni applicative al Regolamento (CE) n. 1760/2000 - Titolo II - Etichettatura carni bovine.
Visto l’art. 9 del decreto ministeriale 30 agosto 2000 che prevede, l’autorizzazione del Ministero delle politiche agricole e forestali per gli organismi indipendenti designati, dagli operatori o dalle organizzazioni, ai controlli ai fini dell’etichettatura della carne bovina nonché il monitoraggio delle attività delle organizzazioni autorizzate all’etichettatura delle carni bovine con informazioni facoltative nell’ambito di un disciplinare approvato dal Ministero medesimo, il decreto 13 dicembre 2001 disciplina nei modi e nella durata detta autorizzazione.

Sicurezza prodotti
Direttiva 2001/95/CE del Parlamento europeo e del Consiglio del 3 dicembre 2001 relativa alla sicurezza generale dei prodotti.
Poiché occorre introdurre numerose modifiche alla direttiva 92/59/CEE al fine di completarne, rafforzarne o chiarirne talune disposizioni alla luce dell’esperienza maturata e dei recenti sviluppi in materia di sicurezza dei prodotti di consumo, la direttiva in esame ne procede alla rifusione. Latte
Direttiva 2001/114/CE del Consiglio del 20 dicembre 2001 relativa a taluni tipi di latte conservato parzialmente o totalmente disidratato destinato all’alimentazione umana.
Per motivi di chiarezza ed allo scopo di rendere più accessibili le norme sulle condizioni per la produzione e l’immissione in commercio di taluni tipi di latte conservato parzialmente o totalmente disidratato destinato all’alimentazione umana, la direttiva in esame ne definisce le denominazioni di vendita ai fini dell’etichettatura.
