Il nuovo standard per la codifica a trasferimento termico
In Italia è stato lanciato nel settembre 2004. Tuttavia, in poco più di un anno, il mercato ne ha già decretato il successo grazie alla maggior flessibilità, ai minori costi d’utilizzo e all’ottima capacità di integrazione con altri sistemi e software. Si tratta di SmartDate 5, l’ultimo nato fra i codificatori a trasferimento termico: una tecnologia pulita per la stampa in linea di dati aggiornati e di codici a barre, grafiche e testi, in cui Markem vanta una posizione di leadership riconosciuta, con decine di migliaia di installazioni nel mondo.
Del resto proprio Markem, nel 1994, è stata il pioniere in questa tipologia di prodotto, brevettando il primo codificatore a trasferimento termico SmartDate.
Flessibilità senza confronti - SmartDate 5 è, in assoluto, il primo codificatore universale impiegabile sia su confezionatrici in continuo che a intermittenza: passa infatti dalla modalità intermittente alla continua in meno di cinque minuti. Il modulo testa di stampa di SmartDate 5 può passare dalla configurazione destra alla sinistra in meno di un’ora.
È così possibile adeguarsi rapidamente alle mutevoli esigenze di packaging del mercato, riducendo anche al minimo i costi di inventario.
Efficienza produttiva - La velocità dei codificatori SmartDate 5 di Markem rende più efficiente il processo di codifica degli imballi, abbattendo i tempi di fermo macchina. In particolare, SmartDate 5s può stampare ad una velocità che arriva fino a 1800 mm/sec: un record che ne fa il codificatore con le performance migliori al mondo.
Minori costi e massima produttività - I codificatori SmartDate 5 abbattono i costi di gestione. La loro affidabilità riduce al minimo i costi di riparazione, e diversi sistemi di risparmio nastro consentono di risparmiare sui materiali di consumo.
Il doppio motore passo passo consente un numero maggiore di codifiche, per ogni metro di nastro di stampa, grazie alla distanza tra una stampa e l’altra che è ridotta al minimo.
Integrazione - SmartDate 5 utilizza una piattaforma software XM, che rappresenta l’ultima generazione impiegata in ambienti industriali. È inoltre dotato di connessione Ethernet e Memory Card, oltre che di porta seriale RS485. Ciò garantisce la massima interfacciabilità con i database aziendali e l’integrazione in rete con altri sistemi informativi.
Tutto sotto controllo - In aggiunta al pannello di controllo standard del codificatore, SmartDate 5 può utilizzare un’interfaccia portatile SmartTouchTM, a colori e touch-screen, per controllare fino a quattro codificatori contemporaneamente. Essa fornisce un’anteprima dell’immagine chiara e semplice, con tutte le funzionalità operatore disponibili fin dalla prima schermata.

The new standard for heat transfer coding
In Italy it was launched in September 2004. All the same, in little more than a year the market has decreed its success thanks to its greater flexibility, lesser use costs and excellent capacity in integrating with other systems and software. Its name is SmartDate 5, the latest heat transfer coder: a clean technology for in-line printing of updated data and barcodes, graphics and wording in which Markem can boast a recognized lead position, with tens of thousands of installations all over the world. What is more it was Markem who in 1994 pioneered this type of product, patenting the first Smartdate heat transfer coder.
Incomparable flexibility - SmartDate 5 is all told the first universal coder usable for both continuous and intermittent packaging machines. SmartDate 5 in fact can go from the intermittent to the continuous mode in less than five minutes. The SmartDate 5 print head module can go from the right to left configuration in less than an hour. Thus the market’s changing packaging needs can be swiftly met, also reducing stocktaking costs to a minimum.
Production efficiency - The speed of Markem’s SmartDate 5 coders makes the process of coding packaging more efficient, reducing machine stop times. In particular, SmartDate 5s can print at speeds that reach 1800 mm/sec: a record that makes it the coder with the best performance in the world.
Lesser costs and max productivity - The SmartDate 5 coders reduce running costs.
Their reliability reduces repair costs to a minimum, and various ribbon saving systems enable savings on consumables. The double step motor enables a greater number of codings for every metre of printer ribbon, thanks to the distance from one print to another that has been reduced to a minimum.
Integration - SmartDate 5 uses an XM software platform, the latest generation used in industrial environments.
It also has Ethernet and Memory Card connection as well as a RS485 serial port. This enables max interfacing with company database and weblinking with other computer systems.
Everything under control
In addition to the standard coder control panel, SmartDate 5 can use a portable color touchscreen SmartTouchTM interface, to control up to four coders at the same time.
It provides a clear and simple preview of the image, with all the operator functions available right from the first frame.
