«Fui folgorato da Duchamp sulla via della Ricerca: l’oggetto, con il suo porsi innocente, offriva un pretesto sublime. Ma come sottrarsi all’incanto dell’arte rappresentativa dei millenni addietro? Il segreto era nella contaminazione, di casualità e premeditazione, di verità e finzione: aiutare la “cosa”, così schiva a proporsi in chiave estetica, a diventare protagonista dello spazio e a scandire, con il ritmo dei rapporti di volume, la sinfonia della forma. Dalle ceneri della rappresentazione, apparentemente azzerata dalla presentazione, può così nascere la nuova mimesi, dal concreto può prendere vita una nuova dimensione dell’astratto. Il traguardo è arrivare al senso della forma, anzi arrivare al Senso con la Forma: la chiamo anche metafisica della materia». Paolo Barlusconi
Paolo Barlusconi - Artista multimediale, nasce nel 1951 a Guanzate (CO). Non ancora ventenne inizia l’avventura artistica, che considera sempre come una ricerca. Gli esordi possono essere riferiti all’area metafisico-surrealista: opere pervase da atmosfere silenti e nel contempo oniriche. Ben presto però sviluppa una propria poetica, incentrata sull’uso dei materiali e degli oggetti come elementi costitutivi dell’opera.
Intraprende in parallelo gli studi tecnici, conseguendo la laurea in ingegneria ed elabora la propria ricerca secondo un’ottica multimediale che costituisce elemento caratteristico del suo operare: pittura, opere tridimensionali, installazioni, fotografia.
Negli anni ‘80 inizia la sperimentazione con nuove tecnologie, prima fra tutte quella laser; fonda con altri due artisti il Gruppo di Ricerche Visive “Metalaser”, col quale tiene diverse mostre e installazioni e intraprende una ricerca sulla luce che tuttora rappresenta elemento importante della sua attività artistica. La ricerca più recente è incentrata sulla sintesi di materia e luce, in opere e strutture di grandi dimensioni. Nel 1997 è tra i fondatori del Gruppo “Anomala”. Espone dal 1975; numerosissime le mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero. Galleria di riferimento: Scoglio di Quarto (Milano).
"I was struck by Duchamp on the road to Experimentation: the object, the way it innocently presented itself, offered a sublime pretext. But how do we escape the spell of the figurative art of the last millennium? The secret lay in contamination, chance workings and premeditation, truth and make-believe: to help the “thing”, so reluctant to offer itself up in an aesthetic interpretation, and become protagonist of space, and beat out, with the rhythm of volume upon volume, the symphony of form. From the ashes of the figurative, apparently zeroed by presentation, thus a new mimesis is born, a new dimension of the abstract can take life from the concrete. Paulo Barlusconi - Multimedial artist, was born at Guanzate (CO). At not even twenty years of age he began his artistic adventures, that he has always considered as ongoing experimentation. His beginnings can be said to come under the metaphysical-surrealistic: his works pervaded by silent and dreamlike atmospheres. He though soon developed his own poeticism, centring on the use of materials and objects considered as items that go to make up the work. At the same time he embarked on technical studies, taking a degree in engineering and carrying out his own form of experimentation by following a multimedial approach, point that constitutes a fundamental feature of his work: painting, 3D work, installations, photography. In the eighties he began experimenting with new technologies, first and foremost the laser; with two other artists he founded the “Metalaser” Visual Research Unit; this while all the while carrying out research on light that to this date constitutes an important element in his artistic activities. His most recent experimental work centres on the synthesis of matter and light, this in largescale works and structures. In 1997 he was among the founders of the “Anomala" Group. He has held exhibitions since 1975; taking part in numerous personal and collective shows in Italy and abroad. Art Gallery: Scoglio di Quarto (Milan).
